Half model of chair assembly consisting of metallic and plastic parts, subjected to loads according to the relevant codes which have been reviewed as part of the project. Based on the FEA results, recommendations were given to change the design concept.
Linear static stress analysis of a bracket assembly. Multiple designs were analysed with different straight pull loads on the shaft being considered. The acceptance criteria of a minimum factor of safety was analysed. Recommendations were given to use a stronger material, and to alter the design.
Autotag is a prototype device to count heating cycles of disinfection ovens. The analysis of the 2D model involved complex contact definitions and non-linear, temperature dependent material properties. It replicated the physical test results and provided recommendations on how to make the design work.
Static stress analysis with non-linear contact of a turnbuckle eye end. 2 different designs were analysed, using a quarter model used to represent the geometry in both designs. Both designs were subject to the same axial load. Although both designs passed the acceptance criteria, a high stress gradient was highlighted, suggesting possibly fatigue weakness.
