Linear static stress and buckling analysis of a test model tank, subjected to external pressure. Plate elements were used to represent the geometry, and a quarter symmetry model was used in the analysis. Although the minimum factor safety was acceptable, the buckling load multiplier was was not, and recommendations were made to improve the design.
