026: Chinook Avionics Rack

Linear static stress analysis and buckling analysis of an avionics rack on a chinook. Beam and plate elements were used to represent the geometry. 6 acceleration directions were inputs for the stress analysis, and 5 for the buckling analysis. This was completed for 2 variations of an initial design, before a modified design was also analysed, based on recommendations given from the initial design. It was concluded that the modified design was acceptable as stresses were below the allowables.
