Non-linear static Finite Element Stress Analysis of a vessel with increased temperatures due to welding. Analysis was performed to ensure the base material present in the weld areas did not fail during the welding process due to the high temperatures observed. Upon completion, the design was deemed acceptable, although recommendations were given to also undertake a more detailed heat transfer analysis to better understand the temperature changes during the weld process.
