485: Helix Coupling

Linear static stress and fatigue analysis of a helix coupling assembly, with non-linear contact. 2 designs were analysed of the assembly, with differing amount of teeth in contact with each side of the coupling. For the fatigue analysis, a strain based approach was used. For the stress analysis, the minimum factor of safety was reported, and recommendations were made on how to improve the design. For the fatigue analysis, the fatigue life of each component was reported.
