Transient heat transfer and non-linear static stress analysis of a furnace assembly, using a 2D axisymmetric model. 4 different designs were analysed. The temperatures evaluated as part of the transient heat transfer analyses were used as inputs for the stress analysis. Despite the designs meeting the acceptance criteria, recommendations were made to consider other operating conditions in future analyses.
