Linear static stress and linear buckling analysis of a subsea assembly due to external pressure. Non linear surface contact was used in the model to accurately represent the interaction between parts. Although the lowest buckling load multiplier was acceptable, design modifications were recommended as the factor of safety in the stress analysis was too low.
