29 Jun 103: Telescopic Mast
Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis of Telescopic Mast assembly, evaluating displacements of antenna and guy wire forces at given wind speeds, with the wind acting in different directions across multiple load cases. 2 designs were analysed, one with the top segment of the telescopic mast being made from GRP, and not Aluminium. The maximum deflections of the assembly were reported, as well as the allowable loads for the guy wires constraining the mast. No mast buckling was reported during the analysis, which was evaluated up to twice the design load.
