Linear static stress analysis with non-linear contact of a strake and ring assembly. Two different models were analysed, with different welding designs, both being subject to an internal pressure. A 9 degree pie cut model was used for both models. For one of the analyses, the fatigue life was calculated in accordance with standard PD5500.
